My first week in Los Angeles!

Well,  we made it! So the drive to LA was crazy. McCrary and I stopped the first night in Biloxi, MS to meet Jake and Becca's parents at a casino, where I won $2, McCrary won $20 and Ricky won $100, go figure! Then we left for Austin, TX to take part of the SXSW festivities. We stayed with an old friend, Chloe. Texas blows, but Austin is not so bad. I got to see Have Gun, Will Travel play on my birthday which was a great treat. After Texas we tried to drive straight to LA but ended up spending the night in a parking lot in Phoenix, AZ.  Eventually we got to LA!!

 Since I have been here I have done the following:

- Started my new job -----> Love it!

- Joined the gym

- Ate at my favorite restaurant, Saddle Ranch twice!

- Bonded with my new roommate KT

- Explored my neighborhood by bike

- Made friends with the local bum (friendliest bum ever!)

- Made a few new friends

- Went karaoking 

- Went to a fashion show

- Went to the Santa Monica Pier

- Went to Venice Beach

- Took Janell on a romantic drive on Mulholland Drive!

- Made friends with the cashier at Pinkberry!

- Still can't read any signs in my neighborhood because I can't speak Japanese

- Inherited furniture from Dena and Amanda

- Made a mixed tape for someone special :)

- The M.O.B.

- Leslie and the Badgers

- Tracy Fancher

Met the following Celebs:

-Flea from Red Hot Chili Peppers

- Dennis Haskins (Mr. Belding from Saved by the Bell)

2 weeks!!!

Today is exactly 2 weeks until I leave for LA. I am so pumped. I accomplished a lot of packing this week. I sent a few boxes of clothes and shoes to KT so I can have more room in my car for breakables. The closer i gets to my leaving date, the more I find other friends of mine are also moving to LA. My friend Janell moved there this week, and my friend Jodie is also moving there soon. Its gonna be like my own little piece of Bradenton in Los Angeles. 

I've been talking  a lot of my friends in LA and can't wait to be back in the same town where we can reconnect. I also can't wait to start my new job. as well as getting more focused on managing The Prospect.

Things I need to accomplish before I go:

Get ahead on my classes at Berklee so I'm not far behind when I leave

Cancel my internet

Change my addresses over

Visit with friends and family as much as I can

Work as much as possible to make extra cash for the roadtrip

Starting off with a blank canvas...

In the coming weeks I will be making the journey again from beautiful Anna Maria Island, Florida to Los Angeles, Ca. I decided to start a blog to keep my family and friends updated on what I am doing, my interests, shows I've been to, movies I have seen, etc. Basically I will let my thoughts unravel here on the blank canvas.

I will be leaving March 15th with my friends Nate, Tim, and Butane. Along the way we are going to stop to hang out in many cities and visit national parks along the way. We plan to arrive in LA on March 21st or 22, where Nate and I will be renting a place in the arts district along with my friend KT. I will start a job as a product manager for a music marketing company, La'Fa'mos (www.lafamos.com) on March 23rd.
