City Lights

My great friend, Mark and I wrote this song on his most recent trip to Los Angeles. I'm very proud of it.

CITY LIGHTS
written by Amanda Blide and Mark Russell

Another car goes by, lonesome nights
Sit alone under city lights, tonight just passes by
And the car you drive and I see your eyes
Looking down the road of your life and I'm left behind

I can hear your words say goodbye
I count sleepless nights beneath these city lights
Just to pass the time, erase my mind
Rewriting memories you left behind

Another stranger's eyes wake up with mine
Sleeping in my bed from last night, they're not your eyes
We share Hellos, Goodbyes, and I can't find everything you were in my life
When you were mine

I can hear your words say goodbye
I count sleepless nights beneath these city lights
Just to pass the time, erase my mind
Rewriting memories you left behind

I've been pacing, footsteps tracing, back to you, back to you
I'm still begging, he's still saying that we're through, it's through

I can hear your words say goodbye
I count sleepless nights beneath these city lights
Just to pass the time, erase my mind
Rewriting memories you left behind

I can hear your words say goodbye
I count sleepless nights beneath these city lights
